Meet Your Editor

Thank you for visiting my page! My name is Sandra Wester, and I live in a small town close to Raleigh, North Carolina with my husband and our lovable chihuahua named Toby. I am one of North Carolina’s natives, and I love calling this great state home. We are close enough to the ocean for day trips and close enough to our family lake house for boating, paddle boarding, and kayaking. Basically, we love the water!

Growing up I was drawn to words, poetry, and all things English—my dad actually refers to me as the English professor. I am always searching for a better word to fit in a sentence because, to me, writing is a work of art. Just like an artist does not feel the masterpiece is complete until the finishing touches are painted onto the canvas, I understand that a written work is not complete until the right word is placed in the sentence.

Credentials

My background includes teaching writing to middle school and high school homeschool students and teaching ESL online to students overseas. I have worked in marketing and public relations in an ad agency setting and in the corporate world. I have also managed public relations campaigns for clients on a freelance basis. Over the past twenty years, I have honed the craft of editing and proofreading and helped numerous colleagues, friends, and family perfect countless documents. At the beginning of 2020, I started Sand West Edit with the goal of helping writers get their message out in a clear and concise way. Since then, I have worked with authors and speakers to edit marketing materials, eBooks, and transcribed podcasts and speeches.

As your editor, I strive to preserve your voice throughout the editing process. I understand that writing is a craft and you have worked tirelessly to communicate your message to the world. You’ll find that I am extremely thorough and somewhat of a perfectionist—traits that help make me an excellent editor!

I look forward to partnering with you to present your best, most polished content to your target audience. Let’s get started!
